Rachel Pickersgill

Rachel Pickersgill is a Senior Clinical Physiologist within the Sleep Unit at Bristol Royal Infirmary. Previously she gained invaluable experience at the Royal Brompton Hospital, spending 6 years in the Sleep and Ventilation department. She has experience with NIV and CPAP set up and management, a range of diagnostic sleep studies from overnight oximetry to full polysomnography set up and analysis. She graduated from Swansea University in 2009 with a BSc in Clinical Physiology with Respiratory Physiology. In 2013, she conducted clinical research at The University of Melbourne, investigating the effects of treating obstructive sleep apnoea in depression.

Rachel completed the ESRS exam in Sleep Medicine for Sleep Technologists in 2017 and has been editor for the BSS newsletter since 2016.
