SUMMARY:AUXOSLEEP 2026 Clinical Update Sleep
DESCRIPTION:SCIENTIFIC RATIONALE \nThe field of sleep medicine is still given limited attention within academic curricula; however\, its significance is progressively growing in the realms of prevention\, accurate diagnosis\, and treatment appropriateness. Consequently\, educational opportunities such as the AUXOSleep 2026 – Clinical Update Sleep hold paramount importance in facilitating the exchange of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches which play a crucial role in ensuring comprehensive patient care. Furthermore\, the present course represents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the enhancement of professional competencies and the optimization of healthcare expenditures. Sleep\, being a fundamental physiological necessity\, plays a pivotal role in preserving the health of the central nervous system\, cardiovascular system\, and overall well-being of individuals. The primary objective of this course is to provide healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding and comprehensive knowledge of such complex interactions. Moreover\, it aims to offer a multidisciplinary update through insights from national and international experts on prevalent sleep pathologies\, available therapies\, and potential complications arising from inadequate treatment in individual patients. \n

SUMMARY:European Sleep Research Society (ESRS): Survey on Barriers for Early-Career Professionals
DESCRIPTION:The ECN (Early Career Network) and EDI (Equality\, Diversity & Inclusion) Committees have developed a new survey to explore the barriers that early-career professionals face when presenting research or participating in congresses. \nThis important initiative aims to gather a representative response base that will support meaningful analysis and may contribute to a publishable outcome. SUMMARY:HEALTHCARE SCIENCE IN SCOTLAND: REDEFINING OUR WORKFORCE
DESCRIPTION:This publication sets out how we will now define our healthcare science (HCS) workforce in\nScotland\, enabling it to be more visible and valued so that it can be better considered and\nutilised in the planning and delivery of services and therefore support improved outcomes for\nour population. \n\nHealthcare scientists play a vital role in delivering safe\, effective\, and innovative care across\nNHS Scotland. This paper details the areas where healthcare science can be better aligned\nwith wider health policy\, such as the Scottish Government’s Service Renewal Framework. It\nrecognises the role of the profession in advancing prevention\, digital transformation\,\npersonalised care\, and population health planning and underlines the need for greater\nvisibility and understanding of the profession to deliver on the commitments for NHS\nrenewal. \n\nView Paper HERE
