European Sleep Research Society (ESRS): Sleep Awareness Month 2026

March 1 @ 12:00 am - March 31 @ 11:59 pm

The European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) has announced that Sleep Awareness Month for Europe will take place from 1–31 March 2026, aligning with World Sleep Day under the theme “Sleep Well, Live Better.”

This year’s campaign carries the message: “Good nights start with good routines.” The focus is on promoting healthy bedtime habits for children, recognising that sleep is the foundation of growth, learning, and emotional well‑being. With increasing challenges such as overstimulation, irregular schedules, and evening screen use, the initiative aims to empower families, educators, and healthcare professionals to prioritise children’s sleep health.

Highlights of the campaign include:

  • 🛏️ Bedtime routines matter – encouraging predictable, nurturing, connected sleep habits.
  • 🎉 Pyjama Day (6 March 2026) – a fun, Europe‑wide event where schools, workplaces, and communities wear pyjamas to raise awareness of children’s sleep health.
  • 📚 Educational resources – free materials and toolkits available to support awareness activities.
  • 🤝 Community involvement – opportunities to organise webinars, workshops, and local events to spread the message.
