Jasvinder Kaler
Jasvinder joined Guys and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust and took up the post of Senior Clinical Pharmacist for Cardiovascular Medicine- leading on the delivery of in- and outpatient clinical care, research, teaching, supervision and further leadership responsibilities.
He has conducted research in the fields of heart failure, Pharmacist-led clinics, AF and anticoagulation, secondary hypertension and familial hypercholesterolaemia.
Jasvinder later joined as the Senior Clinical Pharmacist at the internationally renowned Guys Sleep Disorders Centre. Jasvinder’s current role encompasses a wide remit including the delivery on specialist pharmacist-led outpatient clinics for complex sleep-disorder patients, sleep-medicine pathway development, formulary development, clinical governance, research, teaching, and supervision of clinical staff, trainees and post- and undergraduates.
He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Kings College School of Medicine.
Amongst his research interests are exploring the interplay between cardiovascular disease and sleep disorders, management of severe treatment-refractory RLS, investigating novel wake-promoting agents in central hypersomnia, and assessing neuropsychiatric and cardiovascular effects of stimulant treatment.
His recently conducted research in Sleep Disorders includes the investigation of outcomes of novel stimulants in managing refractory central hypersomnia symptoms, and exploring outcomes in the management of severe/refractory RLS patients, and identifying potential candidates for treatments in complex OSA.
