Newcastle Sleep Study Days – Updates in the neurological sleep disorders

SLEEP TRAINING DAYS 22/23rd June 2020

For the sixth year, the Regional Sleep Service in Newcastle is hos8ng sleep training days in 2020. Come to either or both days and bring your team. The cost has been kept deliberately low to encourage and enable attendance.

 

Monday 22nd June 2020 9.30am-4.30pm (registration 9.00am)

Assessing sleep and treating Insomnia—a practical guide to CBT for insomnia

Led by Dr Kirs8e Anderson, Neurologist and Dr David O’Regan, Psychiatrist. Evidence based, and effec8ve. This day would help any health care professionals who see and treat pa8ents with poor sleep and want to put CBTi techniques into their prac8ce. Overview of sleep and sleep disorders, assessment tools and CBTi components. Case histories and small group teaching. Online training manual supplied. Previous years sold out, so book early to guarantee a place.

 

Tuesday 23rd June 2020 9.30am-4.00pm (registration from9am)

Updates in the neurological sleep disorders

Covering restless legs, narcolepsy, circadian rhythm disorders and parasomnia in children and adults

-Restless legs and periodic limb movements

-Narcolepsy – diagnosis and treatments, new and old

-Circadian rhythm disorders – shift work, jet lag, delayed sleep phase

-REM sleep behaviour disorder and sleepwalking

-Difficult cases—challenging bedtime stories and video quiz

 

Both days are ideal for anyone who sees patients with sleep disorders.
