Module 4 – Managing Sleep in Children with Physical Disability and Sensory Impairment
Online: Monday 29th September and Wednesday 1st October 2025
This module develops your understanding of how to manage sleep disorders in childhood in the context of children with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy. It addresses the specific challenges of managing sleep comfort in these children.
Course content:
- Prevalence predictors and impact of sleep problems in children with physical disabilities
- How do co-morbidities and their care impact on sleep
- Thermoregulation and sleep
- Respiratory Challenges and their treatments
- Daytime participation and Sleep
To be eligible for this programme, you need to be working in the statutory sector (NHS or public organisation) AND have knowledge of sleep disorders either from Module 1b or 2. If you have completed sleep training prior, please contact southamptonsleeptraining@uhs.nhs.uk to check eligibility.
