Dr Lizzie Hill

Dr Lizzie Hill has worked in Sleep since 2000, training in sleep physiology within the Department of Sleep Medicine at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh before passing the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) exam at its first sitting in the UK in 2005. She gained the European Sleep Research Society Somnologist-Technologist (EST) credential at its inaugural sitting in 2014, and is registered at M-Level in Sleep with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP).

Lizzie was awarded her PhD by The University of Edinburgh in 2016, examining prevalence and treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea in adults with Down syndrome. She is currently Sleep Research Fellow at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh and Specialist Sleep Clinical Physiologist at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, and holds an NHS Research Scotland Career Researcher Fellowship.

Lizzie is President of the European Society of Sleep Technologists (ESST), a member of the European Sleep Research Society Exam Subcommittee and a co-opted member of the Executive Committee of the British Sleep Society, leading the Education Subcommittee and organisation of BSS Hands-On Meeting 2018.
