The Sleep Disorders Centre at Guys’ and St Thomas’ Hospital are looking for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Sleep Medicine.

The Sleep Disorders Centre (SDC) is one of the largest centres of adult sleep medicine in Europe. With consultants in respiratory medicine, neurology, neurophysiology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and clinical psychology. Its caseload is extremely broad, covering all aspects of sleep medicine.

The SDC sees approximately 12,000 patients a year, and receives approximately 3000 new referrals per year. These include patients with sleep-disordered breathing, parasomnias, narcolepsy and other central hypersomnias, sleep-related movement disorders, nocturnal epilepsy, and sleep disorders associated with neurological and psychiatric conditions. In addition to the consultant staff, the serviced is supported by two clinical fellows and a highly experienced team of 25 sleep technologists.

The SDC has close links with the departments of respiratory medicine, neurology and the Lane Fox Unit, a national centre of expertise for ventilatory support.

The SDC is seeking a clinical fellow to replace an existing post, to support the clinical service, and to undertake research and audit, and to provide ongoing training in all aspects of sleep medicine. The post would suit candidates with a background in respiratory medicine, neurology, cardiology or psychiatry.
